More failure

Hockney
My Response

I decided to do a bunch of paintings inspired by David Hockney's "A Bigger Splash" from 1967. I really was excited to do it. The thing what I loved about the Hockney piece was the flat quality of the painting that resembled what you get from using Adobe Illustrator. At the time I was doing a lot of illustrator work so I tried to transfer it to the painting medium. I don't think it was a failure as in I didn't like it, I just made a complete mess of my apartment trying to use the airbrush. I made a spray shield and everything but months later I'm still cleaning paint from everywhere. If I want to try it again I'm going to use a better area and try to learn a bit more about airbrush before I try it again. Otherwise it was supposed to be a triptic that was displayed together called "Suburban Scene." I put up the original Hockney painting and mine right below it.
