Busting out the old work crazy style.

This is an old charcoal drawing I did.  It's a triptych called "The Saddest Story Ever Told."  I've always been fascinated by the story of Lazarus from the bible, yes it's considered Jesus's greatest miracle but I always found it sad.  Lazarus is dead and goes to heaven, he is there only a little while and God comes and tells him he needs to leave.   To think that a man was in paradise and was ripped away from it must be terrible.  That story alone has enamored me for years.  Anyway this is the first installment called "Death" about... well... the death of Lazarus.  It's 100% charcoal, and keep in mind it's about 3 years old, I've learned a lot about lighting since then, and truthfully I even debated putting this photo up because the photo just doesn't seem to do the drawing justice.  Not that there was a lot of justice to be had.  Look at me being all haughty and conceited.
